Tom Heaton came through Manchester United's academy without ever making a first-team appearance for the club, instead making his name as Burnley's first-choice goalkeeper for the best part of six seasons from 2014. His shot-stopping helped keep Burnley in the Premier League and earned him England caps, and he later returned to Old Trafford as a senior backup without adding to his United tally.
