Steven Davis built a long, steady Premier League career across Aston Villa, Fulham and, most substantially, Southampton, where he made close to 200 appearances over two spells and became a trusted midfield presence under successive managers. Northern Ireland's long-time captain and most-capped player, he was still turning out for club and country well into his late thirties.
