Lee Carsley was a tidy, tenacious central midfielder for the best part of two decades, with his longest and most productive spell coming across seven seasons at Everton. A Republic of Ireland international, he later moved into coaching and, after leading England's Under-21s to European Championship glory, was appointed interim manager of the England men's senior team in 2024.
