Ledley King spent his entire career at Tottenham Hotspur, and was widely regarded as world-class on his day despite playing much of his later years with no cartilage in either knee, a condition that limited him largely to matchday appearances without training. He made 268 appearances, scored 10 goals, captained the club and won 21 England caps before persistent injuries forced him to retire.
