Kevin Phillips announced himself with one of the great individual seasons in English football, scoring 30 Premier League goals for newly-promoted Sunderland in 1999-2000 to win the European Golden Shoe, still the only Englishman to have done so. He went on to score 92 goals in 263 career appearances across five clubs, adding productive spells at Southampton and Aston Villa, and won eight England caps.
