Djibril Cissé arrived at Liverpool for a club-record fee in 2004 and, despite breaking his leg during his time on Merseyside, became part of Anfield folklore by coming off the bench late in the 2005 Champions League final in Istanbul and scoring in the penalty shootout. The French forward later had a prolific loan spell at Sunderland and a spell at Queens Park Rangers.
