Benjani was a powerfully-built Zimbabwean striker who made his biggest Premier League impact at Portsmouth, scoring 12 goals in 23 appearances in 2007-08 to earn a move to Manchester City. He went on to play for Sunderland and Blackburn Rovers, becoming one of the most recognisable African forwards in Premier League history.
