Barry Ferguson was already a decorated Rangers captain and Scotland international by the time he arrived in England, first at Blackburn Rovers in 2003 and later at Birmingham City, where he made 72 of his 108 total appearances. A combative, technically sharp central midfielder, he captained Scotland during much of his career and brought leadership to both English sides he served.
