Juninho Paulista was a Brazilian magician who lit up Middlesbrough with his quick feet and deadly free-kicks, scoring 12 goals in 35 appearances during his best 1996-97 campaign at the Riverside. A 49-cap international for Brazil, he also played for Atlético Madrid, Celtic and São Paulo, and later returned to Boro on loan before moving into football administration.
