Francis Jeffers was dubbed 'the fox in the box' at Everton, where his poacher's instincts brought 18 goals in 67 appearances before a big move to Arsenal. Later spells followed at Charlton Athletic and Blackburn Rovers, and he scored on his only England cap in 2003, a tantalising talent whose potential was never quite fulfilled.
